Spinach or Palak Paratha is a healthy dish. Spinach is stuffed into the wheat balls and done as chapathis. Spinach or Palak Paratha can be taken as breakfast as well as a evening snack.

To Be Mixed Into A Stuffing

  • 1/2 cup grated paneer
  • 3 tbsp grated carrot
  • 1/2 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
  • salt to taste
  • for the dough
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
  • 3 tbsp spinach (palak) purée
  • 1 1/4 tsp oil
  • salt to taste

Other Ingredients

  • whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta) for rolling
  • 4 tsp ghee for cooking


  1. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll out a portion of the dough into a 175 mm. (7”) diameter circle using a little flour for rolling.
  2. Place a portion of the stuffing in the centre and fold the edges to make an envelope to cover the stuffing.
  3. Cook the paratha on a non-stick tava (griddle) with the open edges at the bottom using 1 tsp of ghee till it is golden brown in colour from both the sides.
  4. Repeat with the remaining dough and stuffing to make 3 more parathas. Serve hot.

How to pack

  1. Wrap in an aluminum foil or cling film or pack in a tiffin box.
