Stuffed Spinach or Palak Paratha
Spinach or Palak Paratha is a healthy dish. Spinach is stuffed into the wheat balls and done as chapathis. Spinach or Palak Paratha can be taken as breakfast as well as a evening snack.
Ingredients
To Be Mixed Into A Stuffing
- 1/2 cup grated paneer
- 3 tbsp grated carrot
- 1/2 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
- 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
- salt to taste
- for the dough
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
- 3 tbsp spinach (palak) purée
- 1 1/4 tsp oil
- salt to taste
Other Ingredients
- whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta) for rolling
- 4 tsp ghee for cooking
Method
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll out a portion of the dough into a 175 mm. (7”) diameter circle using a little flour for rolling.
- Place a portion of the stuffing in the centre and fold the edges to make an envelope to cover the stuffing.
- Cook the paratha on a non-stick tava (griddle) with the open edges at the bottom using 1 tsp of ghee till it is golden brown in colour from both the sides.
- Repeat with the remaining dough and stuffing to make 3 more parathas. Serve hot.
How to pack
- Wrap in an aluminum foil or cling film or pack in a tiffin box.
